Anness Publishing has been producing high-quality illustrated books for over 15 years to publish under its world-wide Lorenz, Aquamarine and Southwater imprints.

During that time over 3,000 separate titles have been created, featuring more than 500,000 colour photographs and artworks specially taken and exclusively owned.

Practical Pictures is an image licencing business dedicated to making the whole of this vast resource available to customers for the first time.

The extensive food and drink library comprises nearly 250,000 images, including a broad range of recipe shots, step-by-step images of preparation and techniques as well as inspirational images of the finished dish. It covers everything from world and regional cuisines to cooking by season; from quick and easy meals to slow cooking; from cakes, breads and baking to barbecues, and from diet and health cookbooks to cooking for special occasions such as dinner parties, celebrations and Christmas.

We also have complete encyclopedic reference sourcebooks of ingredients and how to cook them so look no further if you’re searching for a picture of a specific ingredient. And remember, we are the only library that can provide you with steps, main images AND text on a particular topic.

Our library holds pictures on everything from digging trenches and lawn maintenance to bonsai and bulbs. There are thousands of images of containers, herbs, cacti, orchids, roses, water features, growing fruit & vegetables, seasonal gardening as well as garden ornaments and structures. We have step-by-step pictures of literally hundreds of gardening techniques and processes, including planting, propagation, pruning and fencing, plus thousands of plant identification shots, inspirational shots and garden plans and designs.

Crafts Library
Our images cover everything from jewellery to soft furnishings, quilting, needlecraft, sewing techniques and cross-stitch, paint effects, stencilling, stamping, as well woodworking, picture-framing and pottery.
